Description Of Sage Hydrosol
Sage hydrosol is a water-soluble liquid produced by steam distillation of the leaves and stems of the plant known as sage. Sage essential oil is considered to be a 'warming' oil with astringent and anti-inflammatory properties. It is said to promote healing, alleviate pain, encourage relaxation, and provide relief from stress. Great for use on dark circles under the eyes! It also helps to soothe inflamed skin conditions such as dermatitis. The scent of sage hydrosol is woody, crisp, and herbaceous with a spicy undertone. Hydrosols are created during the steam distillation of essential oils from plants, leaves, flowers, roots, or other plant materials to create water-soluble products. Hydrosols are usually diluted in a ratio of 50% hydrosol and 50% water. When diluted it is recommended for use on skin that is not sensitive. The scent of hydrosols is milder than that of essential oils and often has a sweetness about it which can vary depending on the type and origin of the plant.
Sage hydrosol is anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, astringent, vulnerable and is said to help heal acne-prone skin. Sage is used to help relieve pain associated with rheumatism, arthritis, and muscular aches and pains. It is also said to be beneficial for eczema, burns, psoriasis, oily skin and hair, dermatitis, and as an antiseptic for spots and blemishes. It is useful for varicose veins or other blood circulation problems. Sage is a "tea tree" native to Europe and is used in traditional medicine as a remedy for respiratory ailments such as asthma, bronchitis, and laryngitis. There is also some evidence that sage oil may be effective in easing premenstrual syndrome symptoms such as pain, mood swings, and sore breasts. Sage hydrosol is dark green to brownish-black coloured with a strong, almost pungent odour.
Sage hydrosol is frequently used as a mist; it can be used to treat rashes on the skin, hydrate the skin, stop infections, promote hair development, and other issues. It can be used as a body spray, hair spray, linen spray, facial toner, makeup setting spray, and more. Hydrosol from Sage can also be used to make body wash, soaps, lotions, shampoos, conditioners, and creams.
The hydrosols found in Moksha are five times more intense than the typical hydrosols found in the marker. They can be used safely in a 5:1 ratio, which is one litre of Moksha's Sage Hydrosol to five litres of distilled water to return it to its original form. Our hydrosols' high concentration and low pH mean they don't require preservatives unless they are further diluted. To keep the shelf life of 1-2 years after diluting, add 1% concentration of natural preservatives such as Geogard ECT.

Usage
Please be aware that our hydrosols are produced in a manner akin to that of orange juice concentrate, and are at least five times concentrated. As the extra water evaporates, the hydrosol's increased EO percentage gives it a translucent, milky hue.
As they are inexpensive items, this helps clients save money on shipping and storage. They are solely intended for external use.
Hydrosols can be further diluted at your end with filtered or distilled water; as it is diluted, it will turn clear. They can be used safely in a 5:1 ratio, which is 5 litres of distilled water to 1 litre of hydrosol to get the regular form. Our hydrosols' high concentration and low pH mean they don't require preservatives unless they are further diluted. To keep the shelf life of 1-2 years after diluting, add 1% concentration of natural preservatives such as Geogard ECT. Because of the concentration, using intense hydrosols or floral water may cause some minor irritation.
Storage
To preserve their freshness and extend their shelf life, hydrosols should be kept out of direct sunlight in a cool, dark environment. Before using, thaw out any items that have been refrigerated.
