Java Citronella Essential Oil is extracted from the grass and stems of Cymbopogon Winterianus through Steam Distillation Method. This Grass belongs to the umbrella family of Poaceae, and species of Cymbopogon. Java Citronella is native to Indonesia and parts do India. Citronella grass has two types- Ceylon and Java, and both are used to produce Essential oil. Java Citronella Essential Oil is superior to over other species of plants, because it is rich in Citral. Java Citronella Grass has 75- 85% of Citral, and Ceylon Citronella Essential oil has just a mere 20-30%. It is grown in Assam, Meghalaya, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and other humid parts of India.
